What do you mean Chromecast is not recognized? Any error messages?
If you are reproduce the problem, you can contact the developers of Videostream.
White color means it is powered properly.
If nothing shown on the TV, it could be some hardware issues with the signal output. But normally, you should see the Chrome logo at least.
You may check again the source and HDMI source settings on the TV. You may try another HDMI in the TV if the TV has more than one.
What’s the color of the LED on Chromecast? red or white?
You may try to use the power adapter in the box, if you are using other power adapters.
Maybe your Chromecast is too far from the router.
Did you try to play the video from Plex web app in Chrome browser without casting?
Not sure. Probably it is due to the internet connection.
Will you get similar connection problem if you don’t use Chromecast?
Does the TV show no signal? Or is it a blank screen (what’s the color?)?
No, you cannot use Chromecast with Amazon tablets. Chromecast requires Google play services. Kindle Fire or Fire tables do not have this.
Some Kindle Fire or Fire tablets has screen mirroring feature. It uses Miracast. If your TV supports Miracast, you can directly mirror the screen to TV without using any dongles. If your TV does not support Miracast, you can get a Miracast dongle for the TV. Please read this guide on this: https://allaboutchromecast.com/chromecast-vs-miracast-everything-you-need-know-about-wireless-display-and-screen-mirroring/
Desktop sharing is simply screen mirroring. There is no controls in Chromecast. You have to control the game in your PC.
Anyway, if you play games in Android devices (with Android screen mirroring), you can control games on Android devices.
You can also get a Nexus player to play Android games with the optional game controller.
Amazon’s Fire TV (with the optional game controller) is another good option if you are a Prime member.
For PC games, you probably have to get a bigger monitor and good good speakers.
The red light usually means insufficient power. You may try the power adapter provided or any phone/tablet chargers with more than 1000mA current output.
If the two networks are different, you need reset the Chromecast before you can proceed to the setup in a new network. Chromecast only saves i=one network info.
You may follow this guide to reset the Chromecast: https://allaboutchromecast.com/chromecast-how-to-guide/reset-chromecast-factory-data-reset-fdr/
You may try two things:
1. the USB power. You should use the USB adapter provided, not the USB port on the TV.
2. the HDMI extender. You may try to use the HDMI extender provided in the box.
For Tab 3, you have to reply on individual apps to cast for you. Screen mirroring through Chromecast is NOT support on it yet. You may check this guide: https://allaboutchromecast.com/chromecast-how-to-guide/how-to-use-android-app-to-stream-local-media-files-to-chromecast/
Chrome Extensions are for PCs only. They are not available in Chrome for Android.
Please note, this is a community site for Chromecast owners to help owners. For official technical support, you need contact Google.
If you do not give sufficient information, how can others help you?
