Up until 2 days all my apps with casting abilities were working fine. Now when I use them I cannot get the cast button to show up. It only shows up in the youtube app and in not a single other one. I tried rebooting, a factory reset and even unplugging my router. Is this an issue I can get fixed.

If you can cast YouTube (did you try to cast?), it means there is nothing wrong with the settings. Factory reset will not solve such issues.
You may also re-install Chromecast app to see whether you can manage the Chromecast from your device.
For apps, you may try to update them from Play store.
