I am having issues with my chromecast. It has been a good week now and I am considering returning it. When it is plugged in the TV screen is just black. The light on the chromecast is on but nothing is displayed on the TV. I made sure it is on the appropriate channel. I bought it on black Friday and it has worked up until a week ago. I tried the factory reset and the light does not blink at all. I still tried following the instructions and nothing happens. I plug it back into the TV and it still has a black screen. I cannot find it when I try to stream something to it either. Any advice would be great because I cannot seem to find everything that came in the box with the chromecast to exchange it.

What’s the color of the LED on Chromecast? red or white?
You may try to use the power adapter in the box, if you are using other power adapters.

The light is white and I have been using the power adapter that came with it.

White color means it is powered properly.
If nothing shown on the TV, it could be some hardware issues with the signal output. But normally, you should see the Chrome logo at least.
You may check again the source and HDMI source settings on the TV. You may try another HDMI in the TV if the TV has more than one.

I’ve tried everything multiple times. I have given up and gone and bought a new one. Thanks for trying anyway.
